WSWT is spearheading an initiative in Tennessee to ensure that retail package stores, restaurants and taverns keep alcohol out of the hands of teenagers. A national effort of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Century Council, and the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA), We Don’t Serve Teens is designed to prevent underage drinking by reminding adults that serving minors is illegal, unhealthy and unsafe.
WSWT launched the We Don’t Serve Teens campaign in Tennessee on Sept. 21, 2007 with events in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville. Special guests included Tennessee Attorney General Robert Cooper, retailers, public officials and law enforcement agencies.
As part of the initiative, WSWT is distributing signage and point-of-purchase materials promoting the We Don’t Serve Teens message to each of the retail outlets it services across the state. To read about the Nashville event, visit our News section, or go to www.dontserveteens.gov.
